FAQ’s
About Oahu:
Oahu is a great island which offers lots to do and see. It is the busiest of the Hawaiian Islands with the Cities of Honolulu and Waikiki being the main tourist attraction. Oahu is a great location for bigger groups or if you like shopping and having lots of amenities close by.
You can certainly get away from the city. Oahu's famous North Shore offers some fantastic beaches and the town of Haliewa is famous for its independently owned art galleries and amazing food trucks also during the winter months the North Shore hosts professional surfing at Sunset Beach and Pipeline.
Can I bring Guests To An Elopement:
Yes! Absolutely! Our short and intimate beach elopements allow up to 30 guests per Hawaii state rules. Many of our couples have brought guests and family along but many have chosen it to be just the two of them
How Long Till we Get Our Photos:
My usual turn around time is 4 weeks, I am however open to a rush service for a nominal fee
How Many Photos Will We Get?
The majority of my packages include roughly 50 final edited images per hour, usually more. I find that often people feel they are getting better value of they get more images but in truth its very overwhelming. Id rather choose the best images and provide those and allow for a much better viewing experience.
Do We Get Print Rights To The Photos?
The Digital Files are by far the BEST way to receive your imagery. This is because once you have those digital files, you're able to print and reproduce them to your heart's desire. I always give my couples print rights to their images, I also include up to 100 6x4 prints of selected highlights from the wedding. These pair perfectly with the USB drive and a custom wooden photo box that I also include with every wedding or elopement.
What If We Are Behind Schedule on Our Wedding Day?
Your wedding day can get delayed for a number reasons and I’m pretty flexible with my time, I’m not going to charge you an hour extra for a 15-20 minute delay, I do however have to make sure my second photographers are taken care of and if it goes over 30 minutes we will charge a small fee.
In Hawaii, we are pretty chill and flexible, but that's not always the case, and it's not the case everywhere and with everyone so always good to have that conversation and get on the same page.
What Equipment do you use and do you have a backup?
Most professional equipment allows the photographer to shoot simultaneously to two memory cards at once. This is crucial if there ever were to be a memory card malfunction (which happens.) It could mean the difference of saving your wedding imagery OR losing it. Most contracts cover the photographer for various data loss scenarios, including technology malfunctions - however, if the photographer is using professional grade equipment with dual-writing capabilities, it's a huge fail safe just in case. I use Canon Professional gear exclusively and always have two cameras on me, knowing that I have a fail safe should the worst occur and one fails.
What happened to events booked during Covid-19 and lockdowns? While we'd rather not re-live any of 2020 we do want to at least address the issue and solutions regarding mass lockdown and travel restrictions etc. Our current policy for pandemics and any other Force Majeure event is as follows.
Force majeure is related to the concept of an "Act of God," meaning an event for which no party can be held accountable, such as a severe weather event.
Should an event occur outside of our control, we will postpone your event to a future date of your choice. The new date shall be subject to our availability and within 12 months of the original date. Also, we will waive any "Change Date Fee" provided the new date is within 12 months of the original date. Your deposit and/or previous balance will be applied to the new date.If the new date is after the 12 months period a "Change Date Fee" of $350 will be assessed.
If you decide to cancel your event completely and forgo the postponement offer then the deposit payment and/or Final Balance are non-refundable. Example events, for this agreement, are outlined below.
Acts of God | Natural disasters including, and limited to Tornados, Hurricanes, Tsunami, Flooding & Earthquakes that pose an actual and real danger or risk on the date of your event and where we agree that we cannot offer the services promised or booked and continuing with the event as planned is inadvisable, illegal, or impossible.
Acts of Governments | If you cannot legally travel to Hawaii due to an "act of government" it must be proved that travel was inadvisable, illegal, or impossible.
Wars & Conflicts | Wars & Conflicts that pose an actual and real danger or risk on the date of your event and where we agree that we cannot offer the services promised or booked and continuing with the event as planned is inadvisable, illegal, or impossible.
Pandemics, Epidemics, Virus Outbreaks & Communicable Diseases | For this to constitute a Force Majeure event it has to be joined with an "Act of Government" and travel to Hawaii must be deemed as inadvisable, illegal, or impossible.
Example: 2020's Coronavirus Pandemic is a great example of the above clauses. All events during the "Stay at Home" Orders and mandatory quarantines were postponed without any additional fees as they were considered "Acts of Governments". There is still an argument about whether a Virus Pandemic like the Covid-19 outbreak constitutes an "Act of God" as there are so many variables to consider. We have updated our Contract to specifically outline this for you so you know exactly what is covered during these times.
