Current project - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Portraits

One of my hobbies is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I call it more of a lifestyle really. Its a family of people and is very tight knit. Wherever you go in the world you can step into a Jiu Jitsu gym and be accepted, just be humble and don't have an attitude or things will change really quickly and some of the higher belts may teach you a lesson or two.

I have been involved in Martial Arts since I was a teenager and have never really found one I have wanted to pursue to the end. Jiu Jitsu is the artform I have been looking for and I have been training for about 15 months now. I absolutely love this sport.

So I felt I needed to combine my love of the gentle art and my photography to create this series of portraits. All the portraits are of members from my school that train at Caveirinha Jiu Jitsu Family here in Oahu, Hawaii.
