Michelle and Kai - A Stunning Polo Field Wedding

Michelle and Kai were so easy going and so loved up. They chose Hawaii Polo Field on the North Shore of Oahu as the location for their nuptials.

Michelle also chose to do a hidden bride, which are always fun to shoot. The Hawaii Polo Field has the cutest cottage on site and this allowed a perfect staging area for Michelle to stay hidden from Kai - I had him face out towards the camera, while Michelle walked up behind him. Seeing their faces makes me warm inside every time.

So in LOVE

So in LOVE

The ceremony was amazing to say the least, starting with the Kahu (Priest) blowing the Pu, or Conch shell to announce the arrival of the bride and to let the world know a special ceremony was taking place.

Then a Lei Exchange between the couple and blessings from the Kahu. After which the Kahu proceeded to break open a coconut, with amazing precision (you’d think he’d done this before) and the couple then drink, each on their own, then hold the coconut and allow their partner to drink and finally each pouring a little out for those loved ones no longer with us.

Then came the ring blessing ceremony - using water from the ocean - the salt cleanses and the Kahu uses a Ti leaf to bless the rings. Really amazing ceremony to witness and be a part of.

The ceremony continued with an exchange of rings, a saying of Vows, a ‘Ha’ ceremony ( Traditional Hawaiian greeting where two people breath each others breath, nose to nose and head to head) and finally the kiss to seal the deal. Such a perfect day, great Hawaii weather and amazing people so in love.
